Samantha has worked in marketing and media relations at Empire since 2009, handling press inquiries and managing media. Samantha has more than 20 years experience as a newspaper reporter, most recently at The News & Observer.
Samantha has an MBA with a concentration in International Marketing from Northeastern University and a bachelor of arts degree in English from East Carolina University. Samantha is a licensed real estate broker with the N.C. Real Estate Commission. She is the president of the Ligon Middle School PTA, and has served as the president of the Hunter Elementary School PTA and is a founder and past president of the Lucille Hunter Elementary School Foundation.
She is a past president of the Junior League of Raleigh and has been a member of the organization since 2006, and she is a graduate of Leadership Raleigh (Class of 30). She serves on the boards of the N.C. Executive Mansion Fund, the BSA Occoneechee Council and Read and Feed. She has served on the boards of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, Wake Technical Community College, SAFEchild and the Alexander YMCA.
